Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a home nurse and a home attendant?
A home nurse is a formally qualified clinical professional — holding an ANM, GNM, or BSc Nursing degree with active registration from the Indian Nursing Council or state nursing council. They administer injections and IV drips, manage medications, do wound dressings with sterile technique, monitor vitals, recognise clinical complications, and escalate to a doctor when needed. A home attendant has no medical training and handles non-clinical support tasks — feeding, hygiene, mobility, companionship. Hiring one when you need the other is the single most common mistake Delhi families make. If there's anything clinical involved (post-surgery, IV, injection, wound, chronic disease, bedridden patient), you need a registered nurse, not an attendant. NurseNest Care places registered nurses exclusively.
Can I book just one of these services for a single visit?
Yes. For one-off clinical needs — a single IV drip, an injection course, a wound dressing change, a blood collection, a Foley catheter insertion — we provide single-visit services priced from ₹500 to ₹1,800 depending on the procedure. Call +91 99715 07787 and we'll dispatch the nearest registered nurse within 45–90 minutes (sooner in core Delhi NCR neighbourhoods). Single visits are useful for elderly family members who dislike hospital outpatient waits, for post-discharge patients needing a specific one-time procedure, or for busy working families coordinating care for ageing parents. For multi-visit or multi-day needs we can also arrange shift-based (8h / 12h) or monthly live-in care — typically more cost-effective for anything beyond three visits.
Which service is right for a patient discharged from hospital?
Most post-discharge patients benefit from Post-Operative Care at Home (our most-used service). The first 2–6 weeks after hospital discharge is the highest-risk window for preventable complications — wound infections, medication errors, pressure sores, deconditioning. A registered nurse during this window manages the wound dressing, reconciles medications with the discharge prescription, monitors vitals, does early recognition of complications, and coordinates with your treating doctor. We recommend 12-hour day shifts for moderate-complexity cases and 24/7 live-in for post-ICU discharges, major surgery, or elderly patients with multiple comorbidities. For cardiac, neuro, or oncology patients we match to ICU-trained nurses. Call +91 99715 07787 with the hospital discharge summary and we'll recommend the right care level.
