Introduction

ZUGOHIST TABLET is a combination of Chlorpheniramine, Paracetamol and Phenylephrine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines, Analgesics and Nasal decongestants respectively. It is used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever, common cold or other upper respiratory allergies, like headache, facial congestion and pressure, nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, minor aches and pains, itching of the nose, throat or eyes and watery eyes. ZUGOHIST TABLET relieves upper respiratory symptoms where Chlorpheniramine binds to the histamine H1 receptor and blocks its action, resulting in temporary relief of the negative symptoms (runny nose, sneezing, watery and itchy eyes) brought on by histamine, where Paracetamol relieves pain by elevation of the pain threshold and reduces fever by acting on the on the heat-regulating centre in your brain and Phenylephrine constricts blood vessels and reduces the blood flow to certain areas, thus decreasing swelling and allowing nasal and respiratory passages to open up.

Directions for Use

Take ZUGOHIST TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food. For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow ZUGOHIST TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse the medicine in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Consume the medicine immediately after reconstitution. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection.

ALCOHOLAvoid consumption of alcohol with ZUGOHIST TABLET as it may affect you more than usual. ZUGOHIST TABLET should be used with caution in patients with alcohol dependence. KIDNEYZUGOHIST TABLET should be used with caution in patients having kidney problems, trouble urinating or urinary blockage. Consult your doctor before taking it. LIVERZUGOHIST TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver problems and viral hepatitis. Consult your doctor before taking it. ALLERGYDo not take ZUGOHIST TABLET if you are allergic to Chlorpheniramine, Paracetamol, Phenylephrine or any other ingredients of this medicine. LUNGSZUGOHIST TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with breathing problems like emphysema or chronic bronchitis. ZUGOHIST TABLET should be used with caution in patients with other breathing problems like asthma. Consult your doctor before taking it. HEART DISEASEZUGOHIST TABLET is not recommended in patients with heart disease or high blood pressure. ZUGOHIST TABLET should be used with caution in patients with other heart diseases. Drug - Drug interactions: Before taking ZUGOHIST TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine: medicines used to manage depression (Ex. isocarboxazid, phenelzine, tranylcypromine) other medicines containing paracetamol medicines used to induce sleep or manage anxiety (Ex. zolpidem, diazepam, alprazolam) warfarin (use for blood clot) medicines used to manage fits (Ex. carbamazepine, phenytoin) medicines used to relax muscles (Ex. carisoprodol, cyclobenzaprine) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of ZUGOHIST TABLET, contact your doctor immediately.
