Introduction
TONACT PLUS TABLET is a combination of Atorvastatin and Nicotinic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Hypolipidemic agents. It is used to manage raised cholesterol levels in the body. Cholesterol is a waxy substance found in the blood, the body needs cholesterol to build healthy cells, but high levels of cholesterol can increase risk of heart disease and fatty deposits in the blood vessels. TONACT PLUS TABLET works by reducing bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides levels and reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. Atorvastatin works by slowing the production of cholesterol in the body to decrease the amount of cholesterol that may build up on the walls of the arteries and block blood flow to the heart, brain, and other parts of the body. Nicotinic acid works by decreasing the catabolism of HDL (good cholesterol) in the liver and increase their concentration in the blood.
