It is used for the management of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections Talk to Doctor Pregnancy & Breast Feeding Children & Adolescents Driving & Using Machines Talk to your doctor if you: are allergic to any other ingredients of this medicine have kidney disease have liver disease (hepatitis) This medicine is not recommended during breastfeeding If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years of age Do not drive or operate any machines while taking this medicine since it may cause dizziness Tell your doctor if you are taking, aminoglycosides, vancomycin (used to manage bacterial infection) amphotericin B (used to manage fungal infection) foscarnet, ganciclovir, cidofovir (used to manage viral infection) pentamidine (for infections) interleukin-2 (to manage cancer) non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (used to relieve bone or muscle pains) ledipasvir/sofosbuvir, sofosbuvir/velpatasvir (used to manage hepatitis C) Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you Swallow the medicine with a glass of water Do not crush or chew the medicine If you take more TENOF EM If you take more of this medicine, talk to your doctor or go to a nearest hospital immediately If you forget to take TENOF EM If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember it, however if it is nearly time for the next dose skip the missed dose Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose If you stop taking TENOF EM Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells to do so Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Serious Common Uncommon Rare Very Rare deep rapid breathing, drowsiness, feeling sick (nausea), being sick (vomiting) and stomach pain (lactic acidosis) inflammation or infection muscle weakness, weakness beginning in the hands and feet and moving up towards the trunk of the body, palpitations, tremor or hyperactivity (autoimmune disorders) diarrhoea dizziness, headache difficulty sleeping, abnormal dreams problems with digestion resulting in discomfort after meals, feeling bloated, flatulence rashes, wheezing, swelling or feeling light-headed swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat anaemia fatty liver, yellow skin or eyes, itching, or pain in the abdomen (tummy) inflammation of the kidney (passing a lot of urine and feeling thirsty) back pain softening of the bones (with bone pain and sometimes resulting in fractures) itchy rash to the skin caused by a reaction to sunlight [VERYRARE] Additional Information Storage [ADDITIONALINFORMATION] Keep this medicine out of reach of children Store at a room temperature of 15-25ºC
