Introduction
TELEKAST T TABLET is a combination of Montelukast and Theophylline which belongs to the group of medicines called Leukotriene receptor antagonists and Xanthines respectively. TELEKAST T TABLET is used to manage bronchial asthma. Asthma is a condition in which a person's airways becomes inflamed, narrow, swell and produce extra mucus, which makes it difficult for a person to breathe which is generally characterized by symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, wheezing (whistling sound while breathing) and sleeplessness. Before taking TELEKAST T TABLET, inform your doctor if you are asthmatic, have worsening chest symptoms such as breathlessness or cough, stomach ulcer, cystic fibrosis (a life-threatening disorder that damages lungs and digestive system), seizures, fits or convulsions, have a viral infection or have heart, kidney or liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking TELEKAST T TABLET if you are pregnant or planning to have a baby or a breastfeeding woman. TELEKAST T TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 15 years). It should be used with caution in patients with elderly patients. TELEKAST T TABLET helps in managing the symptoms of asthma, where montelukast blocks leukotriene (a chemical messenger) that results in the reduction of inflammation of the airways and theophylline (a xanthine derivative) that acts by relaxing the muscles of the airways that results in easier breathing by managing the symptoms of asthma.
Directions for Use
Take TELEKAST T TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow TELEKAST T TABLET with a glass of water and do not chew or crush the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

hepatitis (inflammation of the liver) HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTSDiarrhoea: Drink lot of fluids such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to manage diarrhoea and consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse. Dizziness: Lie down until the dizziness passes away and then move slowly and carefully. Take plenty amount of rest and drink plenty of fluids. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom does not improve. Headache: Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Try taking rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom does not improve. Nausea and vomiting: Try to take TELEKAST T TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil-rich, fried or spicy food. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse. WARNING & PRECAUTIONSPREGNANCYTELEKAST T TABLET should be used during pregnancy only if considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking TELEKAST T TABLET. BREASTFEEDINGTELEKAST T TABLET should be used in breast-feeding women only if considered clearly necessary as this medicine is secreted in breast milk and cause irritability to the infant while breast-feeding. Consult your doctor before taking TELEKAST T TABLET. DRIVING AND USING MACHINESTELEKAST T TABLET might cause dizziness or drowsiness. If you experience these side effects, try to avoid driving or operating heavy machines. Consult your doctor before taking TELEKAST T TABLET.
