Introduction
INTRODUCTION ABOUT TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENTTACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT contains Tacrolimus which belongs to the group of medicines called Immunosuppressants. It is used to manage allergic eye conditions (such as allergic conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, etc.). It also reduces eye inflammation and dryness. It can also be used to manage corneal graft rejection following corneal transplantation. Apply a small amount of TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT into the affected eye(s). It is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands before and after application. Avoid touching the tip of the ointment tube with your mouth, nose or other parts of body to avoid contamination. If you wear soft contact lenses, make sure to remove them before applying TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT. Consult your doctor about the usage of contact lenses while undergoing management with TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT. Before using TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT inform your doctor if you have pre-existing disease conditions such as autoimmune disease or skin disorders. You must also inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. Do not use TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor. TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT is not suitable for use in infants and toddlers aged below 2 years. The use of TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT is generally safe and well tolerated.

How It Works
TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT is an immunosuppressive agent. It works by blocking the release of certain chemicals in the body (such as T-cells) that cause allergic and inflammatory reactions. When applied to the eyes, it stops allergic response in the eyes and reduces eye inflammation. It also suppresses the immune system and manages the risk of graft rejection in patients undergoing corneal transplantation.
Directions for Use
Apply TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT as directed by the physician. It is for ophthalmic use only. Apply a small amount of the medicine into the affected eye(s). Wash your hands before and after application. Do not touch the tip of the ointment tube with your mouth, nose or other parts of body to avoid contamination. If you wear soft contact lenses, make sure to remove them before applying TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT. Consult your doctor about the usage of contact lenses while undergoing management with TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition. Do not stop using TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT unless your doctor tells you to stop.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you experience any vision problems after applying TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT. ALCOHOLAvoid consumption of alcohol while using TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT as it may cause eye redness. KIDNEYTACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it. LIVERTACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it. ALLERGYTalk to your doctor before using TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT if you are allergic to Tacrolimus or to any macrolide antibiotics (such as erythromycin, azithromycin). OTHERSBefore using TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT inform your doctor if you: have skin cancer have weak immune system have any skin conditions that hinders skin absorption (such as Netherton’s syndrome) have generalised erythroderma (severe skin redness and scaling) have any autoimmune diseases Use in pediatrics: TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT should be used in children and adolescents (aged between 2-18 years) only if prescribed by the physician. It is not recommended for use in children aged below 2 years. However, consult your doctor for advice. Use in geriatrics: TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT should be used with caution in elderly patients. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
Drug Interactions
SA. Drug – drug interactions: Before using TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT, inform your doctor if you are using any other medicines on the eyes. B. Drug -food interaction: NA Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally used excessive amount of TACLIMENT EYE OINTMENT, rinse your eyes with plain water to ease the irritation. If you irritation persists, consult your doctor.
