INTRODUCTION ABOUT SUPIROCIN B PLUS OINTMENTSUPIROCIN B PLUS OINTMENT is a combination of Beclomethasone and Mupirocin, which belong to the groups of medicines called Anti-inflammatory and Antibiotic, respectively. It is used to manage bacterial skin infections like impetigo. Bacterial skin infections develop when bacteria enter through hair follicles or through small breaks in the skin that result from scrapes, surgery, punctures, sunburn, burns, animal or insect bites, wounds, and preexisting skin disorders. How It Works
SUPIROCIN B PLUS OINTMENT is a combination of Beclomethasone and Mupirocin. Beclomethasone is a corticosteroid that is present in SUPIROCIN B PLUS OINTMENT and works by reducing inflammation and relieving symptoms like itching, redness, irritation, and swelling by blocking the enzymes responsible for causing them (prostaglandins and leukotrienes). Mupirocin, which is an antibacterial agent, exerts its action by reversibly binding to an enzyme (isoleucyl transfer RNA synthetase) and inhibiting its activity of synthesising proteins in the bacteria, producing microbicidal action.
Directions for Use
Apply SUPIROCIN B PLUS OINTMENT as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Cleanse and dry the skin to be managed. OTHERSSUPIROCIN B PLUS OINTMENT is not recommended for use if you have: acne severe reddening of the skin on and around the nose (rosacea) spotted red rash around the mouth (perioral dermatitis) itching around the back passage or private parts viral infections (like chickenpox, cold sores, or herpes) fungal infections (like athlete’s foot, thrush, or ringworm) skin blisters or sores that are caused by an infection varicose ulcers (ulcers which are caused by swollen veins) stasis ulcers (ulcers caused by reduced blood or flow of body fluid) Before taking SUPIROCIN B PLUS OINTMENT, inform your doctor if you have: psoriasis applying for the medicine under an airtight dressing, including a child's nappy had or going to have BCG immunization vaccine Use in pediatrics: SUPIROCIN B PLUS OINTMENT is not recommended for use in children under 1-year-old. Drug Interactions
SA. Drug-Drug interactions: Before taking SUPIROCIN B PLUS OINTMENT, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine: medicine used to manage blood pressure (Ex. amlodipine) medicine used for medical termination of pregnancy (Ex. mifepristone) medicine used to thin the blood (Ex. warfarin) medicine used to manage pregnancy (Ex. ethinyl estradiol) medicine used to manage diabetes (Ex. insulin) medicine used as an antibiotic (Ex. ciprofloxacin) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally use too much of SUPIROCIN B PLUS OINTMENT or if you or a child accidentally swallow the medicine, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
