Introduction
INTRODUCTIONSPASMOPRIV 200MG contains Fenoverine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodics. It is used in the management of smooth muscle spasm of gastrointestinal tract and irritable bowel syndrome in affected individuals. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a group of symptoms that occur together, including repeated pain in the abdomen and changes in the bowel movements, which is generally characterized by symptoms such as cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, gas, and diarrhea or constipation. Fenoverine works by inhibiting calcium ion channels and effectively synchronizes the strong nonsynchronous spasmodic contractions in stomach and intestines (gastrointestinal tract) which results in providing relief from spasms and its associated symptoms. SPASMOPRIV 200MG is not recommended for use in patients with a history of unusually high body temperature during/after receiving an anaesthesia, and/or after physical effort, and also in patients with mitochondrial myopathy (neuromuscular diseases caused by damage to the mitochondria). Before taking SPASMOPRIV 200MG, inform your doctor if you have muscle/chest pain, and or history of kidney/liver problems.
