INTRODUCTION ABOUT SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSIONSIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION is a combination of Brimonidine and Brinzolamide which belongs to the group of medicines called Ophthalmic anti-glaucoma agents. It is used in adults to manage ocular hypertension and glaucoma (increased pressure within the eyes). It is typically used in patients who are not responding well to therapy with single agents. SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION is for ophthalmic use only. Instil few drops of this medicine into the affected eye(s). Do not touch the tip of the dropper with your eye or with other body surface to avoid contamination. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before using SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion. Before using SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have low or high blood pressure, narrow-angle glaucoma, dry eyes, depression or poor blood circulation in your body as a precaution. How It Works
SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION works by decreasing the production of excessive eye fluids (aqueous humour) while simultaneously increasing their drainage. As a result, it reduces strain on the eyes which therefore reduces elevated intraocular pressure.
Directions for Use
Use SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION as advised by your doctor. It is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands before use. Instil few drops of SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION into the affected eye. Close your eyes and press the corner of your eye with your finger for a minute. Do not touch the tip of the dropper with your eye or with other body surface to avoid contamination. Apply applying SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION, leave a time gap of at least 5 minutes before applying other eye drops or ointment. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before applying SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop using SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION without consulting your doctor, as the pressure within the eye may raise once again.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you experience blurred vision, drowsiness or tiredness after using SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION. ALCOHOLAvoid the consumption of alcohol while using SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION as it may increase the risk of side effects. KIDNEYSIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it. LIVERSIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it. ALLERGYTalk to your doctor if you are allergic to Brimonidine, Brinzolamide, sulphonamides (such as glipizide, gliclazide) or diuretics (such as furosemide). HEART DISEASESIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases (such as coronary heart disease or heart failure). Therefore, consult your doctor before using it. Drug-Drug interactions: Before using SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as: medicines used to manage depression such as (Ex. citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine, sertraline, amitriptyline, nortriptyline, moclobemide, selegiline, phenelzine, isocarboxazid, clomipramine, mianserin, venlafaxine and duloxetine) medicines used to induce sleep (Ex. alprazolam, midazolam, phenobarbital) medicines used to manage mental illness (Ex. chlorpromazine, methylphenidate, reserpine) medicines used to lower blood pressure (Ex. enalapril, ramipril) digoxin (a medicine used to manage irregular heartbeat) anaesthetics (used to induce numbness) Ex. lidocaine other carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (used to manage glaucoma) Ex. acetazolamide and dorzolamide medicines used to manage viral infections (such as ritonavir, nelfinavir, atazanavir) medicines used to manage fungal infections (such as ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole) medicines used to manage bacterial infections (such as amoxicillin, cefixime, azithromycin, clarithromycin) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally used more SIMBRINZA OPHTHALMIC SUSPENSION, rinse your eye with warm water.
