Introduction
INTRODUCTIONSICRIPTIN 2.5MG contains Bromocriptine which belongs to the group of medicines called Dopamine agonists. It helps to manage hormonal disorders associated with increased levels of a hormone called prolactin in the body. It is used stop breast milk production among lactating women who wish to stop breastfeeding. It can also be used to manage infertility problems (such as delay in puberty or lack of periods in both men and women) and prolactinomas (non-cancerous tumours of brain) which is caused due to increased levels of prolactin in the blood. It also helps in the management of acromegaly (abnormal growth during adolescence) and is also capable of controlling signs and symptoms of parkinsonism (a nerve disorder caused due to deficiency of a brain chemical called dopamine). Bromocriptine is a prolactin inhibitor with dopamine agonistic activity. It exerts its effects by blocking the production of a hormone called prolactin in the body. This helps in reducing breast milk production, infertility problems and abnormal growth (acromegaly) that are caused primarily due to abnormal prolactin levels in blood. SICRIPTIN 2.5MG corrects hormonal imbalance and brain disorders. It contains a medicine called bromocriptine which is a dopamine agonist and a prolactin inhibitor. It reduces the excess production of a hormone called prolactin in the body that causes galactorrhoea (increased breast milk production), infertility problems or certain non-cancerous tumours (such as prolactinoma). It manages acromegaly by reducing the amount of growth hormone produced in the body. It also reduces the signs and symptoms of parkinsonism (rigidity, tremor, and muscle stiffness) by replacing the lost dopamine levels in the brain.
Directions for Use
Take SICRIPTIN 2.5MG as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Take SICRIPTIN 2.5MG preferably with meals. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

& PRECAUTIONSPREGNANCYSICRIPTIN 2.5MG is not recommended for use in women who has a previous history of high blood pressure during their pregnancy (such as eclampsia or pre-eclampsia or pregnancy induced high blood pressure). Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant before taking SICRIPTIN 2.5MG. BREASTFEEDINGSICRIPTIN 2.5MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless they wish to stop breastfeeding as it may stop or slow down breast milk production. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it. DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you feel dizzy or faint after taking SICRIPTIN 2.5MG. ALCOHOLAvoid consumption of alcohol while taking SICRIPTIN 2.5MG as it might increase the risk of side-effects. LIVERSICRIPTIN 2.5MG should be used with caution in patients having liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it. ALLERGYDo not take SICRIPTIN 2.5MG if you are allergic to Bromocriptine or to other ergot alkaloids such as ergotamine. HEART DISEASESICRIPTIN 2.5MG is not recommended for use in patients who have or ever had heart diseases (such as high blood pressure) or severe blood vessel diseases. It should be used with caution in patients having heart attack. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it. OTHERSSICRIPTIN 2.5MG is not recommended for use if you: have or ever had serious mental problems have or ever had a scar tissue growth (fibrosis) affecting your heart have high blood pressure after giving birth Before taking SICRIPTIN 2.5MG, inform your doctor if you: have seizures or convulsions which are rare, and especially occurs soon after pregnancy have or ever had stomach ulcers or bleeding have unusual severe or persistent headache had a miscarriage or abortion have pre-mensural problems or non-cancerous breast diseases have non-cancerous tumours (Ex. adenoma, lipoma, meningioma) Use in pediatrics: SICRIPTIN 2.5MG should be used in children and adolescents (aged between 7-17 years) only if prescribed by the physician. Drug-Drug Interaction: medicines used to manage high blood pressure such as diuretics (Ex. furosemide), beta blockers (Ex. atenolol), calcium channel blockers (Ex. amlodipine, nifedipine) or ACE inhibitors (Ex. captopril, enalapril) ergometrine (a medicine used to control bleeding after giving birth) ergotamine (a medicines used to manage migraine headache) macrolide antibiotics (used to manage bacterial infections) Ex. erythromycin, azithromycin anti-fungal medicines (used to manage fungal infections) Ex. fluconazole, itraconazole protease inhibitors (used to manage HIV infections) Ex. indinavir, atazanavir octreotide (a medicine used to manage growth disorders) anti-psychotics (used for mental illness) Ex. aripiprazole metoclopramide or domperidone (used for nausea or vomiting) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally took more SICRIPTIN 2.5MG, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
