INTRODUCTION ABOUT SHY XT TOOTH PASTESHY XT Toothpaste is a foaming fluoridated tooth paste which is indicated to provide relief from tooth sensitivity. It contains Potassium nitrate, Sodium fluoride, Sorbitol and Xylitol as active ingredient which works by exerting a desensitizing effect on the tooth, thus builds increasing protection against painful sensitivity of the teeth. Potassium nitrate acts by moving along the dentinal tubules where it blocks the action of dental nerve fibres which reduces the excitability of the tooth. It can also interfere with the nerve impulses which decreases the nerve excitation, making the tooth less sensitive to stimuli.
