Introduction

RIBAXA 150 TABLET is used in the management of various types of cancer such as ovarian cancer, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer and prostate cancer that is caused or relapsed due to certain gene mutations (like BRCA, HER-2 negative genes). It can be used as a single agent or in combination with other anticancer agents for effective management. It contains a medicine called Olaparib which is an anticancer agent. It works by blocking the actions of certain enzymes which is required for the cancer cells to grow and multiply. RIBAXA 150 TABLET should be used under careful medical supervision. It can be taken with or without food. Do not stop taking RIBAXA 150 TABLET without consulting your doctor. During therapy with RIBAXA 150 TABLET, your doctor will schedule blood tests regularly in order to evaluate the effectiveness of this medicine and to avoid

How It Works

RIBAXA 150 TABLET contains Olaparib which is an effective anticancer agent. It works by blocking the actions of an enzyme called PARP (poly ADP-ribose polymerase) within the cells, which is responsible for repairing damaged genetic material (DNA) in both normal and cancerous cells. Since cancers originated due to gene mutations (like BRCA or HER-2 negative gene mutation) contains damaged DNAs in the cells, PARP is required by the cancer cells to repair the damaged DNA and for subsequent proliferation. By blocking the actions of PARP, Olaparib stops cancer cells from repairing their DNA, causing them to die while leaving normal cells less affected.

Directions for Use

Take RIBAXA 150 TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. It can be taken with or without food. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy based on your age, body weight and severity of the disease. Do not stop taking RIBAXA 150 TABLET without consulting your doctor.

Side Effects
