INTRODUCTION ABOUT REXIDIN M FORTE GELREXIDIN M FORTE GEL is a combination of Chlorhexidine, Metronidazole and Lignocaine which belong to the groups of medicines called Antiseptic Antibacterial agents, Nitroimidazoles and Local Anesthetics, respectively. REXIDIN M FORTE GEL is used to manage halitosis, gingivitis, oral stomatitis, pain due to mouth ulcers and food burns. It is also used to manage plaque growth on the teeth. Halitosis is a condition that occurs due to trapped bacteria on the uneven microscopic surface of the tongue that produces odours, contributing to bad breath in an individual. Gingivitis is a form of gum disease that occurs due to poor hygiene and is generally characterised by symptoms such as swollen and receding gums. How It Works
REXIDIN M FORTE GEL helps to manage mouth ulcers, halitosis, gingivitis and oral stomatitis and manages plaque growth. Chlorhexidine heals ulcers by decreasing the number of bacteria in the mouth, leading to decreased swelling and redness of the gums, Metronidazole kills bacteria or other microorganisms by damaging their DNA and Lignocaine provides relief from painful mouth sores by forming a protective coating over the mouth sores and blocking their pain signals.
Directions for Use
Always apply REXIDIN M FORTE GEL, as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. On the affected area, apply a thin layer of this medicine. Managed areas on the face need not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Do not apply REXIDIN M FORTE GEL to your face beyond 5 days. Avoid applying REXIDIN M FORTE GEL around your eyes, including your eyelids.

ALLERGYREXIDIN M FORTE GEL is not recommended for use if you are allergic to chlorhexidine or metronidazole. lignocaine, methyl hydroxybenzoate, propyl hydroxybenzoate, para amino benzoic acid or any other ingredients of this medicine. HEART DISEASEREXIDIN M FORTE GEL should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases such as partial or complete heart block. Consult your doctor before applying for the medicine. OTHERSBefore applying REXIDIN M FORTE GEL, inform your doctor if you: have traumatized (injured) mucosa have sepsis (a life-threatening complication of an infection) in the region of the proposed application have a poor general health Use in Pediatrics: REXIDIN M FORTE GEL is not generally not recommended for use in children (below 12 years of age) unless considered necessary. It should be used with caution in children and adolescents (from 12 to 18 years of age). Consult your doctor before applying REXIDIN M FORTE GEL. Drug Interactions
SA. Drug-Drug Interactions: Before applying REXIDIN M FORTE GEL, inform your doctor, if you are applying any of the following medicine: anticoagulants (used to manage blood clots) such as coumarin derivatives (Ex. warfarin) anti-arrhythmic drugs (used to manage a heart rhythm that's too fast or irregular) Ex. amiodarone cimetidine (used to manage stomach ulcers) beta-blockers (used to manage high blood pressure) general anesthesia (used to induce unconsciousness during surgery) Ex. propofol, ketamine benzodiazepine, barbiturate (used to manage anxiety and insomnia) Overdosage: If you or anyone else applies too much of REXIDIN M FORTE GEL or accidentally swallows it, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are circumoral paraesthesia (burning, prickling or itching sensation), numbness of the tongue, light-headedness, hyperacusis (unusual tolerance to ordinary environmental sounds), ringing in the ears, visual disturbance, muscular tremors, generalized & grand mal convulsions (seizures), unconsciousness, hypoxia (low oxygen level), hypercarbia (increased carbon-di-oxide in the blood), apnoea (serious sleep disorder), severe low blood pressure, slow heart rate, irregular heartbeat, arrhythmia and cardiovascular collapse.
