Introduction
RENOLOG Tablet is indicated for the management of kidney damage due to protein metabolism disorders in chronic kidney disease. Along with RENOLOG Tablet, your doctor may advise you to take low-protein diets or very low-protein diets. It is usually applied to those who have a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) less than 25 ml/min, and the standard low-protein diet is 40g/less for adults. It contains alpha-ketoanalogues, which belong to the group of medicines called Amino acids that work by improving the metabolism of protein in the body, thereby improving renal function. RENOLOG Tablet allows the intake of essential amino acids while minimizing the intake of amino-nitrogen. Following intake, the ketoanalogues are transaminated by taking nitrogen from non-essential amino acids, thereby decreasing the formation of urea by reusing the amino group.
