INTRODUCTION ABOUT REDION XT ORAL DROPSREDION XT ORAL DROPS contains Ferrous ascorbate and Folic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Hematinics. It is used in children to manage iron deficiency anemia and blood loss. Anemia is when your body can't produce enough of haemoglobin (a substance in red blood cells that enables them to carry oxygen), due to insufficient iron. REDION XT ORAL DROPS is not recommended to be taken if you have vitamin B12 deficiency, blood disorder, recurrent blood transfusions, stomach ulcer or other digestive disorders or anemia that is not due to iron deficiency. REDION XT ORAL DROPS helps manage anaemia where Ferrous ascorbate aids in the formation of haemoglobin (substance that carries oxygen to tissues and organs via blood) and Folic acid helps maintain the normal formation of new red blood cells (erythropoiesis).

Directions for Use

Give REDION XT ORAL DROPS to your child as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will recommend the right dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Drug-Drug Interactions: Before giving REDION XT ORAL DROPS to your child, inform your doctor if you are giving any of the following medicines: medicines used to manage bacterial infections (Ex. ofloxacin, cotrimoxazole, chloramphenicol, sulfamethoxazole, tetracycline, neomycin) medicines used for epilepsy (Ex. carbamazepine, phenytoin) medicines used to reduce acidity (Ex. magnesium hydroxide, sodium bicarbonate, aluminium carbonate) penicillamine (used to manage rheumatoid arthritis) sulfasalazine (used for inflammatory bowel diseases) cholestyramine (used to reduce blood cholesterol or control diarrhoea) thyroxine (used for thyroid conditions) medicines used in bone problems (Ex. risedronate, alendronate, ibandronate) medicines used for certain cancers (Ex. aminopterin, methotrexate) pyrimethamine (used to manage malaria) trientine (used for Wilson’s disease) methyldopa (used for high blood pressure) zinc (used as mineral supplement) B. Drug- Food Interactions: Avoid giving tea, coffee, milk or eggs to your child at the same time as REDION XT ORAL DROPS, as the body may absorb less of the iron supplement, which may reduce the effect of this medicine. Overdosage: If your child or anyone else accidentally take too much of REDION XT ORAL DROPS, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
