INTRODUCTION ABOUT RAPITUS SYRUPRAPITUS SYRUP contains Levodropropizine, which belongs to a group of medicines called Cough suppressants. It is used in the symptomatic management of non-productive cough (dry cough). A cough is a reflex action to clear your airways free of mucus and irritants such as dust or smoke. Cough can be caused due to smoke, allergies or upper respiratory tract infections, gastroesophageal reflux disease, asthma, bronchitis, other lung diseases, etc. RAPITUS SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with respiratory disorders such as bronchorrhea or bronchial hyper secretion (increased production of sputum (mucus) and Kartagener's syndrome or ciliary dyskinesia (respiratory disorders that reduce the ability to expel mucus). RAPITUS SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease and diabetes mellitus. Avoid taking RAPITUS SYRUP with food. RAPITUS SYRUP is not recommended for use by pregnant women. RAPITUS SYRUP is not recommended for use by breastfeeding mothers, as it may cause decreased muscle tone and vomiting in the breastfed baby. RAPITUS SYRUP is a cough suppressant which relieves cough by inhibiting the sensory cough receptors.

Directions for Use

RAPITUS SYRUP should be taken with a clean and dry spoon or a dropper. The medicine should be shaken well before being poured into a spoon. The frequency and dose required will be decided by your physician.

SIDE EFFECTS OF RAPITUS SYRUPRAREStop taking RAPITUS SYRUP and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects: severe allergic or anaphylactic reaction such as skin rash, urticaria, itching, redness or skin diseases, e.g., the formation of blisters (epidermolysis), swelling of face, mouth, lips or throat (angioedema) causing difficulty in breathing or cough low blood sugar levels which lead to unconsciousness (hypoglycaemic coma) nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain allergic reactions including general discomfort, dizziness, balance disorders, tremors, tingling, numbness palpitations, rapid heartbeat, low blood pressure irritability, drowsiness and depersonalization (disturbance in the perception of oneself and the environment) lack of strength and weakness of the lower limbs

BREASTFEEDINGRAPITUS SYRUP should be avoided in breastfeeding mothers because babies who were breastfed while having this medicine had symptoms like decreased muscle tone and vomiting. Contact your doctor before taking RAPITUS SYRUP. DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or operate any machines if you feel drowsy after taking RAPITUS SYRUP. KIDNEYRAPITUS SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment (severe renal insufficiency in which the creatinine clearance is below 35ml/min). Consult your doctor before taking RAPITUS SYRUP. LIVERRAPITUS SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver disease. Your doctor must be told if you are suffering from liver diseases. Consult your doctor before taking RAPITUS SYRUP. ALLERGYRAPITUS SYRUP should be avoided in individuals, who are allergic to Levodropropizine or intolerance to sucrose or other sugars or other ingredients in the medicine. LUNGSRAPITUS SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with respiratory disorders such as bronchorrhea or bronchial hypersecretion (increased production of sputum (mucus) and Kartagener's syndrome or ciliary dyskinesia (these are respiratory disorders that reduce the ability to expel mucus). Drug Interactions

SA. Drug-Drug Interaction: Before taking RAPITUS SYRUP, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine: sedatives or benzodiazepines Ex. alprazolam, diazepam, lorazepam (medicines used to manage anxiety) B. Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid taking RAPITUS SYRUP along with the foods as their efficiency may get reduced. Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of RAPITUS SYRUP, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
