Drug-drug interactions: Before taking PTU 50MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: theophylline (a medicine used to manage asthma) digoxin (used to manage heart problems) beta-blockers (used to manage high blood pressure) Ex. acebutolol, labetalol radioiodine (used to manage an overactive thyroid gland) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally took more PTU 50MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Overdosage may cause vomiting, stomach pain, headache, fever, joint pain, itching, being pale, tiredness, frequent infections, unusual bleeding, or unexplained bruising. Too high a dose over a period of time can cause swelling of your thyroid (at the front of your neck), and your thyroid gland may become underactive, in which case you may feel tired, cold, or put on weight.
