It is used to manage and prevent dandruff and dry or greasy scaling of the scalp (seborrhoeic dermatitis), which is a more severe kind of dandruff It also manages the inflammation associated with dandruff, relieving scalp redness and itching Talk to Doctor Pregnancy & Breast Feeding Children & Adolescents Driving & Using Machines Talk to your doctor before using this medicine, if you: are allergic to coal tar and ketoconazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine suffer from inflammation of the hair follicles (folliculitis) or acne are photosensitive suffer from a condition called lupus erythematosus have inflamed or broken skin (you have open wounds, or your skin is infected) If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine It is not recommended for the children under 12 years of age NA Tell your doctor if you are using a steroid product (e.g. betamethasone or hydrocortisone) on your scalp Always use this medicine exactly as told by your doctor For external use only Use every 3 or 4 days for 2 – 4 weeks If your scalp has not cleared within 4 weeks, speak to your doctor If any gets into your eyes wash gently with water Do not use more than the amount recommended above If you use more PROTAR K SCALP If you use more of this medicine, talk to your doctor immediately If you forget to use PROTAR K SCALP If you forget to use a dose, use as soon as you remember.
