POTRATE M ORAL SOLUTION is not recommended for use in patients with hyperkalemia (high potassium levels in the blood), gastrointestinal disease, peptic ulcer disease, urinary tract infection and kidney disease. How It Works

POTRATE M ORAL SOLUTION works by reducing the kidney stone formation. Potassium citrate and magnesium citrate, causes the metabolism of absorbed citrate producing an alkaline load. In addition to raising urinary pH and citrate, this also increases urinary potassium and magnesium. In certain patients, potassium citrate causes a transient reduction in urinary calcium. These changes produce urine that is less helpful to the crystallization of stone-forming salts.

Directions for Use

Take POTRATE M ORAL SOLUTION as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Use a measuring cup or spoon to properly measure a dose. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
