Detailed Information
Introduction
INTRODUCTIONPIVASTA 4MG contains Pitavastatin which belong to the group of medicines called Lipid-lowering drugs. It is used to manage high blood cholesterol levels (hyperlipidaemia) in adults and in children (aged 6 years or above) along with diet and lifestyle changes. Hyperlipidaemia is a condition characterized by increased levels of bad cholesterol and triglycerides (fats) in the blood. If left unmanageed, these fat particles can deposit in the blood vessels and can block the blood flow through them leading to various problems such as heart attack or stroke. Pitavastatin reduces the production of bad cholesterol and triglycerides in the body by blocking the action of an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase which is involved in cholesterol production. Along with the management, you must follow a cholesterol-lowering diet, lifestyle changes and regular physical activity as instructed by your doctor to achieve better results. Before taking PIVASTA 4MG inform your doctor if you have any lung, liver, kidney, or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have diabetes thyroid problems or a family history of muscle disorders. Talk to your doctor before taking PIVASTA 4MG if you are taking any antibiotics (such as fusidic acid) to manage any existing infections. Do not take PIVASTA 4MG if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor. PIVASTA 4MG may increase your blood sugar levels. To avoid this, your doctor will closely monitor your blood sugar levels while undergoing therapy with PIVASTA 4MG as a precaution. The most common
