INTRODUCTION ABOUT PICOZEST SUSPENSIONPICOZEST SUSPENSION is a combination of Liquid Paraffin, Milk of Magnesia and Sodium Picosulphate which belongs to the group of medicines called Laxatives and Antacids respectively. It is indicated for short term management of constipation associated with piles, anal fissure, cardiovascular disorder, hernia, pre and post- operative condition, endoscopy, for bowel clearance before radioscopy. It also relieves sour stomach and heartburn. Before starting the management with PICOZEST SUSPENSION, your doctor might ask you to take some diagnostic tests. PICOZEST SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in patients having kidney diseases, intestinal obstructions and undiagnosed abdominal pain. How It Works
PICOZEST SUSPENSION helps in managing constipation and relieving acidity where Liquid paraffin softens the stools and aids the smooth evacuation out of the bowel. It also eases the pain which is associated with the evacuation of stools. Milk of magnesia causes the stomach acid to neutralise and acts as laxative by drawing in more water into the intestines which softens the stools and increases its volume as well. Sodium picosulphate is activated by the bacteria present in the digestive tract. It increases the accumulation of water in the intestine and also increases the movements of intestine. This increased movements leads to feeling of fullness and creates an urge to pass stools.
