Introduction

PICLIN TABLET contains Sodium picosulfate which belongs to the group of medicines called Laxatives. It is used for short term relief of functional constipation. Constipation is defined as fewer than three bowel movements a week, stools that are hard, dry, lumpy, difficult or painful to pass. Your doctor might advise to take rich fibre diet, more fluid intake, and do regular exercise. PICLIN TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with acute liver failure, severe dehydration, ileus, gastrointestinal obstruction, gastrointestinal ulceration or perforation. It is also not recommended if you have appendicitis, acute inflammatory bowel diseases, severe abdominal pain associated with nausea and vomiting, sudden/severe abdominal pain just before intake, undiagnosed rectal bleeding. PICLIN TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney, heart disease, recent gastro-intestinal surgery, inflammatory bowel disease. Contact your doctor before taking. How It Works

PICLIN TABLET works by increasing the mucosa of the large intestine and rectum. Which in turn increases its motility (movement), accumulation of water, hence softening the stool and stimulating defecation (emptying of bowel).

Directions for Use

Take PICLIN TABLET as advised by your doctor. Swallow the whole medicine with glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of medicine depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
