Introduction

INTRODUCTION ABOUT OPACIA DUO EYE DROPSOPACIA DUO EYE DROPS is a combination of Timolol and Travoprost which belongs to the group of medicines called Beta-blockers and Prostaglandin analogs respectively. OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS is indicated to decrease the elevated pressure in the eye among adult patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are insufficiently responsive to topical beta blockers or prostaglandin analogues. Ocular hypertension is an eye condition in which the pressure within the eye exceeds the normal range (above 16mmHg). Open-angle glaucoma is a chronic, progressive eye condition primarily caused due to elevated intraocular pressure (pressure in the eyes). It can lead to permanent loss of vision if not managed properly. Symptoms include intense eye pain or tenderness, blurred vision, eye redness or itching and headache. Before using OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you have any respiratory or heart disease. If you wear soft contact lenses, apply OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS at least 15 minutes before you wear your lens. Do not use this medicine directly on your eyes while wearing your contact lenses in. If you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant, avoid direct exposure of OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS. If any of the medicine encounters with your skin, immediately wash it off with soap and water. OF OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS To decrease elevated pressure in the eye among adult patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension (who are insufficiently responsive to topical beta blockers or prostaglandin analogues)

How It Works

OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS effectively reduces elevated pressure in the eye, where timolol acts by decreasing the production of fluid in the eye (aqueous humor) and travoprost acts by increasing the drainage of aqueous humor from the eye. Collectively they decrease the elevated pressure within the eye.

Directions for Use

Use OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS as advised by your physician. It is for ophthalmic use only. Instill the prescribed amount of the medicine into your eye(s). Follow the following steps while using OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS: Wash your hands thoroughly before application Tilt your head slightly backwards and gently pull down your lower eyelid Gently squeeze the bottle and instill the medicine drop wise into your eye Close your eyes and gently press the corner of your eye with a finger for 2 minutes to avoid leakage of the medicine from your eye If necessary, repeat the same steps for the other eye Close the bottle and wash your hands Do not touch the tip of the dropper with your fingertips, eyelids or other parts of the eye surface to avoid the risk of contamination. Do not use OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS for more than 4 weeks after opening it to manage infections. Your doctor will decide the correct dose for you depending upon your condition. Continue to use OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS, if your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results.

Side Effects

using OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS are eye redness, pain, itching and eye dryness or discomfort. It can also lead to a permanent change in the color of the iris or increase the length, thickness, color and/or number of your eyelashes. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects bothers you. DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you experience blurred vision, dizziness, hallucination, nervousness or fatigue after using OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS. ALLERGYDo not use OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS if you are allergic to Timolol, Travoprost or other beta-blockers (Ex. betaxolol, levobunolol) or prostaglandin analogs (Ex. latanoprost, bimatoprost). LUNGSOPACIA DUO EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in patients who have or had any respiratory problems (such as asthma, severe chronic obstructive bronchitis or other breathing problems) in the past. Consult your doctor before using OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS. HEART DISEASEOPACIA DUO EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in patients with heart disease (such as heart failure or irregular heartbeat). It should be used with caution among patients who have or had other heart problems such as coronary heart disease or low blood pressure in the past. Drug Interactions

SA. Drug-Drug interactions: Before using OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS inform to your doctor, if you are taking any of these medicines: medicines used to reduce elevated blood pressure (Ex. propranolol, atenolol, captopril, enalapril) medicines used to manage heart problems or some forms of malaria (Ex. quinidine, digoxin) medicines used to manage diabetes (Ex. metformin, insulin, glimepiride, glipizide) medicines used to manage depression (Ex. fluoxetine and paroxetine) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally applied too much of OPACIA DUO EYE DROPS, wash it all out with warm water. If required, contact your doctor or go to a hospital straight away.
