Introduction

INTRODUCTION ABOUT OMEZ 40MG INJECTIONOMEZ 40MG INJECTION contains Omeprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Proton pump inhibitors. It is mainly used in the management of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (increased acid secretion in the stomach due to growth in pancreas resulting in abdominal pain, diarrhoea, gnawing or discomfort in upper abdomen, heartburn, nausea and vomiting). OMEZ 40MG INJECTION is also used in the management of reflux esophagitis (acid contents in the stomach flows back into the tube connecting your mouth and stomach causing heartburn, nausea, vomiting, bitter taste, discomfort in upper abdomen or dry cough), ulcers in the stomach and duodenum (stomach acid damages the lining of the digestive tract and upper part of the intestine causing symptoms such as heartburn, indigestion, nausea, passing excessive amounts of gas or vomiting). Before receiving OMEZ 40MG INJECTION, tell your doctor if you have any severe liver problems, weight loss for no reason, stomach pain or indigestion, severe or persistent diarrhoea, osteoporosis (condition in which bones become weak and brittle) and schedule for a specific blood test (chromogranin A). OMEZ 40MG INJECTION can be used in pregnant or breast-feeding women only if advised by the doctor. OMEZ 40MG INJECTION is generally not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age). OMEZ 40MG INJECTION should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) due to increased risk of fractures, especially if used in higher doses and over long durations (>1 year).
