Introduction

INTRODUCTIONNEOVEC 4MG contains Vecuronium which belongs to the group of medicines called Skeletal muscle relaxants. It relaxes your muscles and keeps your body still during a surgery. It can also be used during endotracheal intubation (a tube is placed into the windpipe to open airways) and during an operation as part of general anesthesia. NEOVEC 4MG can be used both in adults and in children (including newborns). Before receiving NEOVEC 4MG inform your doctor if you have any lung, liver, kidney, or heart problems. How It Works

NEOVEC 4MG is a muscle relaxant. It works by blocking the transmission of nerve signals from the nerve fibers to the muscles. As a result, it causes muscle relaxation and help you stay still during surgeries. NEOVEC 4MG can also relax the muscles involved in breathing which facilitates easy fix of flexible plastic tube into the trachea during endotracheal intubation.

Directions for Use

NEOVEC 4MG will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into the vein (intravenously). under close monitoring. Your doctor will decide the correct dose for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition.

Side Effects

However, NEOVEC 4MG can be used during a caesarean section in pregnant women under close medical supervision. BREASTFEEDINGNEOVEC 4MG should be used in breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, inform your doctor before receiving it. DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or operate any machines if you feel tired, weak, or dizzy after receiving NEOVEC 4MG. KIDNEYNEOVEC 4MG should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, inform your doctor before receiving it. LIVERNEOVEC 4MG should be used with caution in patients having problems with their liver or gall bladder. Therefore, inform your doctor before receiving it. ALLERGYDo not receive NEOVEC 4MG if you are allergic to Vecuronium or any other muscle relaxants (such as pancuronium). LUNGSNEOVEC 4MG should be used with caution in patients with lung or respiratory problems. Therefore, inform your doctor before receiving it. OTHERSBefore receiving NEOVEC 4MG inform your physician if you: have problems in blood circulation have edema (swelling of body parts) have nerve or muscle disorder (such as myasthenia gravis, poliomyelitis, Eaton-Lambert syndrome etc.) have low potassium or calcium levels in the blood have high magnesium levels in the blood are dehydrated (due to vomiting or diarrhea) have increased carbon dioxide in the blood (alkalosis) have increased acid level in the blood (acidosis) are obese or overweight have cachexia (muscle loss from the body) have drop in body temperature during anesthesia have burns Use in pediatrics: NEOVEC 4MG should be used in infants, children, and in adolescents (aged between 0-18 years) under close medical supervision. Use in geriatrics: NEOVEC 4MG should be used with caution in elderly patients. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before receiving it.

Drug Interactions

SA. Drug-Drug interactions: Before receiving NEOVEC 4MG inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: lithium (a medicine used to manage bipolar disorder) quinidine (a medicine used to manage irregular heartbeat) quinine (a medicine used to manage malaria) betamethasone, prednisone, prednisolone, triamcinolone, methylprednisolone (used to manage inflammation in the body) thiopental (a medicine used to manage convulsion) magnesium salts (used to manage low magnesium levels in the blood) lignocaine (a medicine used to cause temporary numbness of a confined area) succinylcholine, suxamethonium, pancuronium, d-tubocurarine, metocurine, and gallamine (used to relax muscles) neomycin, streptomycin, kanamycin, gentamicin, lincosamide and polypeptide antibiotics, acylamino-penicillin antibiotics, and dihydrostreptomycin (used to manage bacterial infection) phenytoin, carbamazepine and thiopental (used to manage fits and seizures) cimetidine (a medicine used to reduce stomach acid production) diuretics (used to improve urine output) Ex. furosemide, chlorothiazide medicines used to manage heart problems (such as atenolol propranolol, amlodipine, nifedipine) calcium chloride and potassium chloride Overdosage: NEOVEC 4MG will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose.
