NEOPRIDE INJECTION is an antipsychotic medicine with anti-emetic and anti-dyspeptic properties. It acts by blocking the actions of certain chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) in the brain that controls the mood, behaviour and movement of stomach muscles. As a result, it improves muscle movement in the stomach (gastric motility) and reduces the unpleasant symptoms of GI tract (such as nausea, vomiting, indigestion, sensation of fullness and lack of appetite). It can also stabilize your mood, reduces the signs of depression and control abnormal thoughts and behaviours.

Directions for Use

NEOPRIDE INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into the vein (intravenously) or into the muscles (intramuscularly). Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Side Effects

Drug – Drug Interactions: Before receiving NEOPRIDE INJECTION inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as: levodopa, ropinirole (medicines used to manage Parkinsonism) medicines used to manage high blood pressure (such as propranolol, atenolol, amlodipine, diltiazem, clonidine, methyldopa, ramipril, azilsartan) medicines used to manage severe tics (such as pimozide) medicine used to manage mental illness or depression (such as haloperidol, lithium, imipramine, thioridazine, sulpiride) methadone (a medicine used to manage drug addiction) other medicines used to manage stomach disorders (such as cisapride, aluminium hydroxide, sucralfate) medicines used to manage anxiety (such as diazepam, clonazepam, pentobarbital, phenobarbital) narcotic analgesics (used for pain relief) Ex. morphine, fentanyl, pethidine medicines used to manage allergic reactions (Ex. cetirizine, levocetirizine) analgesics (used for pain relief) Ex. codeine, oxycodone anticholinergic medicines (used to reduce muscle movements) Ex. atropine Overdosage: NEOPRIDE INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose.
