Introduction
INTRODUCTION ABOUT MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTIONMYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION contain Neostigmine which belongs to a group of medicine called Cholinergic drugs. It is mainly used for the management of myasthenia gravis (a chronic autoimmune disorder in which antibodies destruct the communication between nerves and muscle, characterised by weakness in the arm and leg muscles, double vision, trouble speaking and chewing). MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION is also used to reverse the effects of muscle relaxants, normalise intestinal movements and manage urinary retention after surgery. MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you have blockage in your intestine or face difficulty urinating, have peritonitis or any condition where your intestines may no longer be functioning. Before receiving MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION tell your doctor if you have asthma, fits, stomach ulcer, Parkinson’s disease or any heart problem. How It Works
MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION increases muscle strength by blocking the action of an enzyme in the body which blocks nerve impulses to muscles. By stopping this enzyme from working, it strengthens muscles and thus helps in easing of intestinal movements and urinary retention.
Directions for Use
MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of management for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects

DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or handle any machines if you are affected in any way after receiving MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION. KIDNEYNo dose adjustment of MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION is required in patients having kidney disease, although, close monitoring maybe needed. Consult your doctor for advice. LIVERNo dose adjustment of MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION is required in patients having liver disease, although, close monitoring maybe needed. Consult your doctor for advice. ALLERGYDo not receive MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Neostigmine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. LUNGSMYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients having asthma. Consult your doctor for advice. Drug Interactions
SA. Drug - Drug interactions: Before receiving MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: certain group of medicines used to manage bacterial infections (Ex. amikacin, gentamycin) suxamethonium (used to relax muscle during surgery) Overdosage: MYOSTIGMIN 2.5MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse if you experience any unusual symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, increased bronchial and salivary secretions and slow heartbeat.
