Introduction

MONOTRATE SR 30MG TABLET contains Isosorbide Mononitrate which belongs to the group of medicines called Nitrate vasodilators. It is used to manage chronic angina pectoris and it is not recommended for use in sudden or acute angina. Angina pectoris is defined as a sudden, sharp, severe pain originating from the apex of heart and radiating to the left shoulder. The pain is severe and crushing, and it is characterized by feeling of pressure and suffocation, behind breastbone. MONOTRATE SR 30MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients suffering from lung disease that result in low levels of oxygen in the body (hypoxemia) or cardiac conditions such as low blood volume, low blood pressure, and thickened cardiac muscles (cardiac myopathy) or shock (vascular collapse). Before taking MONOTRATE SR 30MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney diseases, glaucoma, thyroid problems, or if you suffer from low body temperature. Your doctor may advise you to follow lifestyle changes such as diet changes (taking foods low in fat, salt or sugar) and do regular mild exercises to achieve better results during management with this medicine.
