Introduction

MODIN 5MG TABLET contains Procyclidine which belongs to the group of medicines called Anticholinergics. It is used to relieve and manage the signs of Parkinson's disease such as stiff muscles, paralysis, shaking of hands (tremors), trouble talking, writing and walking, producing too much saliva and dribbling, sweating, uncontrolled eye movements and depression. MODIN 5MG TABLET is also used to control extrapyramidal effects caused by certain medicines used to manage mental health conditions, which might include restlessness and unusual head and body movements. MODIN 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you have tardive dyskinesia (uncontrolled movements of the head or tongue). Consult your doctor before taking it. Directions for Use

Take MODIN 5MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Take it with food to reduce nausea. Swallow the medicine with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide an appropriate dose and duration depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking MODIN 5MG TABLET unless your doctor advises you to stop. Otherwise, your symptoms may return.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or operate any machines if you have blurred vision, dizziness, confusion or disorientation after taking MODIN 5MG TABLET. KIDNEYMODIN 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking it. LIVERMODIN 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking it. ALLERGYDo not take MODIN 5MG TABLET if you are allergic to Procyclidine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. HEART DISEASEMODIN 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with high blood pressure or a heart condition. Consult your doctor before taking it. OTHERSMODIN 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you: have tardive dyskinesia (uncontrolled movements of the head or tongue) Before taking MODIN 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you: have intolerance to certain sugars have trouble passing urine (urinary retention) due to an enlarged prostate gland have an obstructive disease of the stomach or bowels (Ex. pyloric stenosis, paralytic ileus) have narrow angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye) or family history of glaucoma or have a higher chance to get glaucoma have a mental health condition have constipation have any underlying condition that makes your heart to beat faster (Ex. thyrotoxicosis) Use in pediatrics: MODIN 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents. Consult your child’s doctor for advice. Use in geriatrics: MODIN 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients. Your doctor might carefully monitor your dose to manage any side effects. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Drug Interactions

SA. Drug - Drug interactions: Before taking MODIN 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: medicines used to manage mental health problems (such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, depression, schizophrenia) Ex. tacrine, memantine, isocarboxazid, phenelzine, paroxetine, amitriptyline, clozapine, donepezil, rivastigmine, chlorpromazine nicotine (used to help stop smoking) pilocarpine (used to manage dry mouth or glaucoma) bethanechol (used to help urinate) medicines used to manage nausea, vomiting and indigestion (Ex. cisapride, domperidone and metoclopramide) medicines used in Parkinson's disease (Ex. amantadine, levodopa) medicines used for heart complaints (Ex. disopyramide, quinidine, nitrate) nefopam (used for managing pain) ketoconazole (used to manage fungal infections) antihistamines (medicines used to relieve allergies) Ex. loratadine, cetirizine Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of MODIN 5MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of MODIN 5MG TABLET overdose are fast heartbeat, agitation, restlessness, confusion, severe inability to sleep, excitement, feel anxious and aggressive, disorientation, pupils in the eye may not open or close when light is shined on them, hallucinations, feeling very sleepy, fall into unconsciousness or into a coma.
