How It Works
METOPAR TABLET provides relief from migraine attacks where Metoclopramide blocks the action of a chemical substance produced in the brain that initiates vomiting along with increasing muscle contractions in the stomach and intestine and Paracetamol works by stopping the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever. This collective action is therefore useful in managing nausea, vomiting and headaches associated with migraine effectively.
Directions for Use
Always use METOPAR TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. METOPAR TABLET are headache, dizziness, indigestion, drowsiness, tiredness, restlessness and diarrhoea. If any of these symptoms worsen, consult your doctor. SIDE EFFECTS OF METOPAR TABLETCOMMON drowsiness depressed mood muscle spasms of your face and jaw, speech problems, unnatural tongue and rolling eyes, unnatural positioning of your head, shoulders and spine difficulty with movement, tremors or restlessness diarrhoea weakness UNCOMMON increased milk production irregular or absent monthly periods hallucination decreased consciousness level RARE feeling irritable and confused constipation feeling sick (nausea) dry mouth difficulty sleeping Stop taking METOPAR TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects: allergic reaction signs (skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips or tongue which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing, wheezing or shortness of breath) signs of the neuroleptic malignant syndrome (sudden increase in body temperature, extremely high blood pressure, stiff muscles and severe convulsions) methaemoglobinaemia (bluish colouration of skin) signs of tardive dyskinesia (sudden mood changes, uncontrolled and repeated movements of the arms, legs, eyes, mouth, tongue, face and jaw) bruising more easily, sore throat or other signs of infection (these may be signs of a blood disorder) severe pain in the abdomen and back, with fever (high temperature), loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting (these may be signs of pancreas inflammation)

& PRECAUTIONSPREGNANCYMETOPAR TABLET is recommended for use in pregnant women or women planning to become pregnant only if it is considered necessary. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice. BREASTFEEDINGMETOPAR TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass into breast milk and can affect the breastfeeding infant. Consult your doctor for advice. DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy, drowsy or tired after taking METOPAR TABLET. ALCOHOLAvoid consumption of alcohol while taking METOPAR TABLET because it might make you feel dizzy or sleepy. KIDNEYMETOPAR TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor for advice. LIVERMETOPAR TABLET should be used with caution in patients having impaired liver function and liver diseases such as Gilbert’s syndrome and glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. Consult your doctor for advice. ALLERGYDo not take METOPAR TABLET if you are allergic to paracetamol or metoclopramide. HEART DISEASEMETOPAR TABLET should be used with caution in patients with a history of abnormal heartbeats (QT interval prolongation) or any other heart problems. OTHERSMETOPAR TABLET is not recommended for use if you: have bleeding from the stomach and/or digestive tract have a blockage in the intestine have recent surgery on the stomach and/or intestine have phaeochromocytoma, a rare tumour of the adrenal gland have epilepsy Before taking METOPAR TABLET inform your doctor if you: have glutathione deficiency have haemolytic anaemia have dehydration have malnutrition for a long period are weighed less than 50 kg have breast cancer have Parkinson's disease condition affecting muscle control Use in Pediatrics: METOPAR TABLET is not recommended for use in children less than 1 year of age. Consult your doctor for advice. Use in Geriatrics: METOPAR TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice.
Drug Interactions
SA. Drug-Drug interactions: Before taking METOPAR TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine: warfarin and clorindione (medicines used to manage blood clots) phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine, topiramate (medicines used to manage epilepsy) other medicines that relieve pain (Ex. codeine and morphine) medicines used to manage travel sickness, hayfever and allergy (dicyclomine, atropine and fesoterodine) medicines used to manage mental health illness (Ex. fluoxetine, risperidone, aripiprazole and clozapine) levodopa (a medicine used in the management of Parkinson's disease) digoxin (a medicine used to manage heart failure) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of METOPAR TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of an overdose might include dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, increased sweating, vomiting, stomach pain, convulsions or fits, uncontrolled muscle movements and yellowing of the skin.
