Introduction
INTRODUCTIONMELATAG 25MG contains Meclizine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamine/Antiemetic agents. It is used to prevent and provide relief from nausea, dizziness and vomiting associated with motion sickness (illness caused by motion during travel). It is also used to manage vertigo (condition where a person experiences sensation of spinning movement or of surrounding objects moving when they are still in the same position) associated with diseases affecting the vestibular system in adults. Meclizine works by suppressing vestibular stimulation by controlling the activity of hair cells in the inner ear and therefore helpful in manageing vertigo symptoms like dizziness and spinning sensation. It also reduces the activity of central nervous system (by anticholinergic effect) and reduces symptoms like nausea and vomiting sensation associated with motion sickness. MELATAG 25MG should be used with caution in patients with asthma, liver, or kidney disease, glaucoma and enlarged prostate gland. Contact your doctor before taking it. Before taking MELATAG 25MG inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
