Introduction

MEFTAL P TABLET contains Mefenamic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is used to relieve the symptoms of inflammation such as redness and swelling. It can be used to manage pain and discomfort caused due to arthritis (inflammation of joints) muscular diseases or rheumatoid disorders (inflammatory disorders affecting the muscles and joints). It can also be used in the management of headache, muscle pain, tooth ache, post operative pain, childbirth pain, fever in children and painful or heavy periods. Your doctor may monitor your kidney or liver function before and during the management to make sure they are functioning properly. Your doctor may also suggest you perform blood tests during the management to check your health condition. MEFTAL P TABLET is not recommended for use in patients have or ever had stomach or intestinal conditions such as stomach ulcer, bleeding in the stomach, severe gastritis (inflammation of lining of the stomach) and inflammatory diseases of the intestine such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease. Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking MEFTAL P TABLET as it may increase your risk of stomach bleeding.
