It is used to relieve nasal and sinus congestion, allergic symptoms of the nose or throat due to hay fever, upper respiratory tract allergies (symptoms include runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, body ache, and fever), sinus pain and headache. It is also used in combination with antibacterial in sinusitis, tonsillitis and otitis media. Menthol helps to give the sensation of breathing easier and reduces cough by acting on the cold receptors present in the nose and throat. Paracetamol belongs to Analgesics and Antipyretics works to stop the pain messengers from getting through to the brain and also acts in the brain to reduce fever. Thus, decreasing pain and fever.
