Introduction
INTRODUCTION ABOUT LYNX INJECTIONLYNX INJECTION contains Lincomycin which belongs to the group of medicines called Lincosamides. LYNX INJECTION is used alone/combined with other antibiotics to manage serious infections caused by susceptible strains of streptococci, pneumococci, and staphylococci bacteria in affected individuals when other antibiotics become ineffective to manage the disease due to penicillin allergy/ bacterial resistance. LYNX INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients allergic to lincomycin, and/or clindamycin. It is also not recommended for use in patients with minor bacterial/viral infections. Before administering LYNX INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have stomach problems (such as gastrointestinal disease), monilial infection (yeast infection), lung problems (such as asthma), kidney problems (severe renal dysfunction), and/or liver problems (such as impaired hepatic function). LYNX INJECTION should be used with caution during pregnancy only if it is clearly necessary. The medicine is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless it is clearly necessary since the medicine may pass through breast milk. LYNX INJECTION should be administered with caution in children and adolescents (aged above 1 month to 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years/above) after consulting the doctor. OF LYNX INJECTION Manage serious infections caused by susceptible strains of streptococci, pneumococci, and staphylococci bacteria in affected individuals when other antibiotics become ineffective to manage the disease due to penicillin allergy/ bacterial resistance
How It Works
LYNX INJECTION works by binding to bacterial genetic material (RNA) and cause inhibition of synthesis of certain essential proteins in bacteria which leads to its destruction and manage its spread to other parts of the body thus managing infections caused by susceptible bacteria in affected individuals.
Directions for Use
LYNX INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse as an intravenous injection in a vein, intramuscular injection in a muscle, and/or subconjunctival injection underneath the conjunctiva lining the eyelid. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects
receiving LYNX INJECTION are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, swelling near the injection site, and/or dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects worsen. BREASTFEEDINGLYNX INJECTION is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless it is clearly necessary since the medicine may pass through breast milk and can cause serious side effects in nursing child. Consult your doctor before receiving the medicine. DRIVING AND USING MACHINESDo not drive/operate machines if you feel dizzy after receiving LYNX INJECTION. KIDNEYLYNX INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease such as severe renal dysfunction. Consult your doctor before receiving the medicine. LIVERLYNX INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with liver disease such as impaired hepatic function. Consult your doctor before receiving the medicine. ALLERGYDo not receive LYNX INJECTION if you are allergic to lincomycin, clindamycin, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine. LUNGSLYNX INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with lung problems such as asthma. Consult your doctor before receiving the medicine. Drug Interactions
SA. Drug-Drug interactions: Before receiving LYNX INJECTION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine: erythromycin (used to manage bacterial infection) kanamycin (used to manage serious bacterial infection) phenytoin (sued to manage epilepsy and trigeminal neuralgia) muscle-relaxing medications (used to manage muscle spasm/muscle spasticity) Overdosage: LYNX INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse if you experience any unusual symptoms.
