USES OF LURATA 80MG Manage symptoms of schizophrenia in adults (aged 18 years and over) and adolescents aged 13-17 years HOW LURATA 80MG WORKSLURATA 80MG works by blocking receptors for neurotransmitters, dopamine and serotonin. By blocking their receptors, this medicine helps to normalise the activity of the brain, reducing the symptoms of schizophrenia. DIRECTIONS FOR USEAlways take LURATA 80MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken with or without food. Try to take this medicine at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. SIDE EFFECTS OF LURATA 80MGSERIOUS severe allergic reaction seen as fever, swollen mouth, face, lip or tongue, shortness of breath, itching, skin rash and sometimes a drop in blood pressure serious blistering rash affecting the skin, mouth, eyes and genitals (Stevens-Johnson syndrome) fever, sweating, muscle stiffness, and reduced consciousness (neuroleptic malignant syndrome) blood clots in the veins especially in the legs (symptoms include swelling, pain and redness in the leg), which may travel through blood vessels to the lungs causing chest pain and difficulty in breathing COMMON restlessness and inability to sit still sleepiness parkinsonism speech problems, unusual muscle movements (extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS)) dizziness muscle spasms and stiffness nausea, vomiting rash and itching indigestion dry mouth or excess saliva abdominal pain insomnia, agitation, and anxiety weight gain increase in creatine phosphokinase (an enzyme in muscles), increase in creatinine (a marker of kidney function) RARE rhabdomyolysis which is the breakdown of muscle fibres that leads to the release of muscle fibre contents (myoglobin) into the bloodstream, seen as muscle pain, being sick, being confused, an abnormal heart rate and rhythm, and possibly dark urine increase in eosinophils (a type of white blood cell)
