Introduction

INTRODUCTIONLULIGEE contains Luliconazole which belongs to the group of medicines called azole antifungal agents. It is indicated for the topical management of interdigital tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis caused by organisms like Trichophyton rubrum and Epidermophyton floccosum in adult patients. Tinea pedis (athlete’s foot) is a dermatophyte infection of soles of feet and interdigital spaces. Tinea cruris, also known as jock itch is a superficial fungus infection of crotch (region where your leg joins) and perineum. Tinea corporis, popularly known as ringworm, is a fungal infection characterized by red, itchy, circular rash with clearer skin in the middle. Luliconazole exerts its antifungal activity by disrupting the permeability of normal fungal cell membrane. It inhibits the enzyme lanosterol demethylase, which results in decreased amounts of ergosterol, which is a major component of the fungus cell membranes. It is only for topical use. How It Works

Luliconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol by inhibiting the enzyme called lanosterol demethylase in the susceptible fungi. Inhibition of lanosterol demethylase by luliconazole results in decreased concentration of ergosterol, a constituent of fungal cell membranes, and a corresponding accumulation of lanosterol.

Directions for Use

Apply this medicine as directed by your physician. It is only for topical use. It is not for ophthalmic, oral or intravaginal use. Apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected area and approximately 1 inch of immediate surrounding areas. once daily for 1 or 2 weeks. Wash your hands after use. Continue to apply this medicine, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results.
