Introduction

INTRODUCTIONLOXAPAC 25MG contains Loxapine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antipsychotics. It is used to manage the manifestations of schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe mental disorder that affects the way a person thinks, acts, expresses emotions, perceives reality, and relates to others. It is characterized by symptoms such as delusions (beliefs that are away from reality), hallucinations, and disorganized thoughts perceived from disorganized speech. GBNKEYWORD] is not recommended for use if you are allergic to loxapine, dibenzoxazepine (such as amoxapine), or phenothiazine (such as chlorpromazine). It is also not recommended for use in patients with brain damage, pheochromocytoma (tumour of adrenal glands), blood dyscrasias (blood disorder), comatose state, and/or severe drug-induced depressed states, blood vessel disorder, low white blood cell or low platelet count. It should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disorders, renal insufficiency, and heart disease. How It Works

LOXAPAC 25MG works by binding to receptors of certain neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin (chemical messengers responsible for thoughts and mood) that results in suppression of aggressive behaviour thus managing the associated symptom of schizophrenia in affected individual.

Directions for Use

Take LOXAPAC 25MG as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Symptoms of overdose are low blood pressure, respiratory depression, unconsciousness, extrapyramidal symptoms (such as muscle stiffness, body spasms, upward eyerolling, exaggeration of reflexes, drooling, difficulty in moving body), fits, renal failure, agitation, confusion, drowsiness, dizziness, muscle stiffness/twitching, increased salivation, trouble swallowing, weakness, loss of balance or coordination, weak pulse, slow heart rate, weak or shallow breathing, and fainting.
