Introduction
INTRODUCTION ABOUT LCIN SYRUPLCIN SYRUP contains Levofloxacin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. LCIN SYRUP is used in pediatric patients to manage chest infections (such as chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia), acute sinusitis, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and other bacterial infections (such as recurrent/persistent otitis media). It is also used to manage anthrax (a serious bacterial infection) in pediatric patients. LCIN SYRUP is not recommended for use in children allergic to levofloxacin. Before administering LCIN SYRUP, inform your doctor if your child has kidney problems (such as renal impairment) and/or liver problems (such as hepatic impairment). LCIN SYRUP is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women since it is used only in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). LCIN SYRUP works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (an enzyme responsible for DNA synthesis) in bacteria, which results in the destruction of bacterial cell structure, thus managing the occurrence of bacterial infection in affected children.
