INTRODUCTION ABOUT LACTISYN SACHETLactisyn Sachet is a probiotic that is used as an adjuvant in the management or management of acute diarrhoea, and recurrent Clostridium difficile infection. It can also be used in Travellers’ diarrhoea alone or in combination with antibiotic. It contains Saccharomyces boulardii as an active ingredient that helps enhance gut health. Saccharomyces boulardii is a dried form of yeast called probiotics that acts as a friendly organism which helps to fight against disease causing organisms in the gut such as bacteria and yeast. It does so by regulation of intestinal microbial homeostasis, interference with the ability of pathogens to accumulate and infect the mucosa and modification of local and systemic immune responses. It also helps stabilize the gastrointestinal barrier function and induce enzymatic activity favouring absorption and nutrition. Adults can take 2-4 Lactisyn Sachet per day and children can take 1-2 sachets per day, or as advised by the doctor. It is for oral use only. It can be taken directly or mixed with water or honey.
