Introduction
KOLIGESIC TABLET is a combination of Dicyclomine and Paracetamol which belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodics and Analgesics, respectively. KOLIGESIC TABLET is used to provide relief from spasmodic pain and discomfort due to biliary colic (abdominal pain), intestinal colic (intestinal pain), renal colic (sharp pain due to kidney dysfunction), and spasmodic dysmenorrhea (sharp pelvic pain at the start of menstrual flow) in affected individuals. KOLIGESIC TABLET is also used to provide relief from the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and functional bowel disease. KOLIGESIC TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to dicyclomine, and paracetamol. It is also not recommended for use in patients with liver problems such as severe hepatic insufficiency and in patients with a history of known idiosyncrasy (adverse effect) to dicyclomine. Before taking KOLIGESIC TABLET, inform your doctor if you have/ suspected of having glaucoma (increased eye pressure), prostatic hypertrophy (prostate gland enlargement), Gilbert’s syndrome (inherited liver disorder), liver problems (such as mild to moderate hepatic insufficiency), and/or kidney problems (such as severe renal insufficiency). KOLIGESIC TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary. How It Works
KOLIGESIC TABLET provides relief from spasmodic pain and discomfort, where Dicyclomine relieves abdominal cramps, pain, bloating and discomfort by relaxing the muscles in the stomach & gut and managing the occurrence of sudden muscle contractions and Paracetamol provides relief from pain by blocking the action of prostaglandin (chemical messengers responsible for pain) thus providing reducing spasmodic pain and discomfort in affected individuals.
Directions for Use
Take KOLIGESIC TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects

Consult your doctor before taking the medicine. DRIVING AND USING MACHINESKOLIGESIC TABLET is unlikely to affect your ability to drive and/or operate machines. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine. ALCOHOLAvoid consumption of alcohol while taking KOLIGESIC TABLET as it may increase the risk of intoxication. KIDNEYKOLIGESIC TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems such as severe renal insufficiency. Contact your doctor before taking KOLIGESIC TABLET. LIVERKOLIGESIC TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with liver problems such as severe hepatic insufficiency. It should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate hepatic insufficiency and other liver disorders. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine. ALLERGYDo not take KOLIGESIC TABLET if you are allergic to dicyclomine, paracetamol, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine. Drug Interactions
SA. Drug-Drug interactions: Before taking KOLIGESIC TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine: antiepileptics (use to manage epilepsy) Ex. phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine, topiramate rifampicin (used to manage tuberculosis) medicines used to manage blood clots such antivitamin K (Ex. warfarin) flucloxacillin (used to manage skin, wound, bone infections) chelating resin (medicine used to manage mercury & lead toxicity, and blood transfusion dependent anaemias) metoclopramide, domperidone (used to stop nausea and vomiting) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of KOLIGESIC TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are abdominal pain, pallor, headache, dizziness, nausea, dry mouth, difficulty in swallowing, anorexia, dilated pupils, dry skin, hepatic cytolysis (harmful immunoallergic reaction which leads to liver failure), gastrointestinal bleeding, metabolic acidosis (excess acid production in the body), encephalopathy (brain disease that alters brain function), disseminated intravascular coagulation (serious blood disorder that affects bleeding), pancreatitis (inflammation of pancreas), pancytopenia (deficiency of red blood/white blood/platelets), acute renal failure, and coma.
