Introduction

INTRODUCTION ABOUT INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTERINFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER contains Ketoprofen which belongs to the group of medicines called Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory drugs. It is indicated to reduce the pain and inflammation of musculoskeletal conditions like tennis elbow (pain due to irritation of connecting tissue from forearm to elbow), tendovaginitis and peritendinitis (inflammation of tissue around the tendons which is characterised by pain and swelling). INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER can also be used to relieve pain in deformans arthritis (joint disease with deformation of affected joints), pain after trauma, scapula inflammation (swelling due to overuse of shoulder) and myalgia (muscle pain). Your doctor may advise you to avoid sun light exposure to the applied site during wearing plaster and at least 4 weeks after removal of plaster, as this medicine may conceal skin inflammations. INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER should be used with caution in patients having bronchial asthma or other breathing problems, skin problems or a history of photosensitivity reactions. INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Safety of INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER has not been established in lactation so, consult your doctor before using it. How It Works

INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER relieves pain and inflammation by inhibition of cylooxygenase-2 (COX-2), thus decreasing the levels of prostaglandins (substances that mediate pain, fever and inflammation).

Directions for Use

Use INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER as directed by physician. Apply immediately after removal from the protective pack. It should be applied on non-hairy area. Clean the area of application with water and dry it before applying. Do not cut the plaster. It is for external use only. INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER should not be used in eyes or mucosal membrane. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

Side Effects

ALLERGYINFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER is not recommended for use if you are allergic to Ketoprofen or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. LUNGSINFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER should be used with caution in patients with bronchial asthma combined with chronic rhinitis, chronic sinusitis or nasal polyposis. Consult your doctor for advice. OTHERSINFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER is not recommended for use: if you had photosensitivity reactions in the past if you have pathological skin changes like eczema in infected skin or open wounds Before using INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER, inform your doctor if you have: chronic disease like deformans arthritis (joint disease) inflammation accompanying any infection Use in pediatrics: INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER is not recommended for use in children. Drug - Drug interactions: Before taking INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: antibiotics like amoxicillin, ofloxacin (used to manage bacterial infections) antifungal agents like ketoconazole (used to manage fungal infections) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally use too much of INFEN TRANSDERMAL PLASTER, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
