Introduction
INTRODUCTION ABOUT HALU S OINTMENTHALU S OINTMENT is a combination of Halobetasol and Salicylic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids and Keratolytic agents respectively. It is used to manage eczema, psoriasis. This medicine is also used to manage dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis and inflammatory dermatoses. Eczema is a skin inflammatory disorder characterized by red and itchy rashes. The utmost common cause of eczema is allergies. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease of the skin that is characterized by red, itchy, and scaly rashes. HALU S OINTMENT should not be used on the face, groin, or in axillae. HALU S OINTMENT is not recommended to use in patients who have rosacea or perioral dermatitis. HALU S OINTMENT should be used with caution among pregnant and breastfeeding women. HALU S OINTMENT is a combination of Halobetasol and Salicylic acid. Halobetasol is a steroid which works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic acid works by breaking down keratin clumps, removing dead skin cells, and softening the skin. It also increases the absorption of halobetasol into the skin.
Directions for Use
Apply HALU S OINTMENT as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of HALU S OINTMENT to the affected area. Managed areas on the face should not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Your doctor will decide the right dose, and duration depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
