Introduction

GRANICIP DT 1 TABLET contains Granisetron which belongs to a group of medicines called Anti-emetics. It is used to manage nausea and vomiting caused by other medical managements such as chemotherapy or radiation management for cancer. Before taking GRANICIP DT 1 TABLET inform your doctor if you have heart diseases, blockage in your stomach or intestines, electrolyte abnormalities, galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. GRANICIP DT 1 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Consult with your doctor before taking. GRANICIP DT 1 TABLET should not be used in children below 2 years of age. GRANICIP DT 1 TABLET can be used in elderly people (65 years and above).

GRANICIP DT 1 TABLET acts by inhibiting a receptor called 5-HT3 receptors present which present both in brain and gastrointestinal tract. This inhibition of 5-HT3 receptors in turn inhibits the stimulation of the vomiting centre, managing nausea and vomiting.

Directions for Use

Always take GRANICIP DT 1 TABLET as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a plenty of water and do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your conditions.

Drug-Drug interactions: Before taking GRANICIP DT 1 TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: other 5-HT3 receptor antagonist such as dolasetron or ondansetron (used to manage nausea and vomiting) diltiazem, amlodipine (medicines used to manage an irregular heartbeat) phenobarbital (used to manage epilepsy) ketoconazole (used to manage fungal infections) paroxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, citalopram, venlafaxine, duloxetine, escitalopram (used to manage depression and/or anxiety) buprenorphine, tramadol (used to manage acute and chronic pain) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of GRANICIP DT 1 TABLET, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdose includes mild headaches.
