Introduction
INTRODUCTION ABOUT GRANDEM SYRUPGRANDEM SYRUP contains a medicine Granisetron which belongs to a group of medicines called Anti-emetics. It is used to manage or manage nausea (feeling sick) and vomiting (being sick) caused by other medical managements such as chemotherapy or radiation management for cancer and after surgery. Before taking GRANDEM SYRUP inform your doctor if you have heart diseases, blockage in your stomach or intestines, electrolyte abnormalities, galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. GRANDEM SYRUP is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Consult with your doctor before taking. GRANDEM SYRUP should not be used in children below 2 years of age. GRANDEM SYRUP can be used in elderly people (65 years and older).

How It Works
GRANDEM SYRUP acts by inhibiting a receptor called 5-HT3 receptors present which present both in brain and gastrointestinal tract. This inhibition of 5-HT3 receptors in turn inhibits the stimulation of the vomiting centre, managing nausea and vomiting.
Directions for Use
Always take GRANDEM SYRUP as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a plenty of water and do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your conditions.

SIDE EFFECTS OF GRANDEM SYRUPCOMMON headache constipation problems sleeping (insomnia) changes in liver function tests (pain in abdomen, nausea, vomiting, jaundice) diarrhoea RAREStop taking GRANDEM SYRUP and inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects: changes in the heartbeat, chest pain, irregular heartbeat and changes seen on ECG readings (electrical recordings of the heart) swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips and mouth or throat, which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing rash or itching fainting serotonin syndrome symptoms such as diarrheoa, nausea, vomiting, high temperature and blood pressure, excessive sweating and rapid heartbeat, agitation, confusion, hallucination, shivering, muscles shakes, jerks or stiffness, loss of coordination and restlessness

Consult your doctor before taking it. DRIVING AND USING MACHINESGRANDEM SYRUP should not affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. ALLERGYDo not take GRANDEM SYRUP if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Granisetron or any other ingredients of this medicine. HEART DISEASEGRANDEM SYRUP should be used with caution in patients suffering from heart diseases. Consult your doctor for advice before taking GRANDEM SYRUP. OTHERSBefore taking GRANDEM SYRUP, inform your doctor if you have: blockage in the intestine (stomach-ache, wind, feeling or being sick or difficulty passing stools) electrolyte abnormalities (potassium, sodium or calcium) serotonin syndrome been or are being managed for cancer with a medicine that might cause damage your heart lactose intolerance Use in Pediatrics: GRANDEM SYRUP is not recommended for use in children below 2 years of age. Consult with your child’s doctor before giving this to your child. Use in Geriatrics: GRANDEM SYRUP can be used in elderly people (65 years and older). However, consult with your doctor before taking.
Drug Interactions
SA. Drug - Drug interactions: Before taking GRANDEM SYRUP, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: other 5-HT3 receptor antagonist such as dolasetron or ondansetron (used to manage nausea and vomiting) diltiazem, amlodipine (medicines used to manage an irregular heartbeat) phenobarbital (used to manage epilepsy) ketoconazole (used to manage fungal infections) paroxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, citalopram, venlafaxine, duloxetine, escitalopram (used to manage depression and/or anxiety) buprenorphine, tramadol (used to manage acute and chronic pain) Overdosage: If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of GRANDEM SYRUP, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdose includes mild headaches.
