Introduction
GLUCOTAG M 50/500MG TABLET is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients who have not sufficiently responded to either diet and exercise alone or after a combination of diet and exercise with other single oral antidiabetic medicines. It is a combination of Acarbose and Metformin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents. GLUCOTAG M 50/500MG TABLET is not recommended for patients with ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease, severe liver disorders, kidney diseases, hernias, intestinal diseases, gastric diseases, type-1 diabetes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, weight loss, dehydration, severe infections in the lungs or kidney, acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, acute heart failure, or heart attack. How It Works
GLUCOTAG M 50/500MG TABLET contains Acarbose and Metformin. Acarbose works by inhibiting the action of enzymes involved in the digestion of carbohydrates and sugars, thereby delaying the digestion of carbohydrates complex (sugars) and lowering blood sugar levels. Metformin reduces the amount of sugar that the liver releases into the blood and gives a better response to insulin. This is the major action responsible for lowering blood glucose levels.
Directions for Use
Take GLUCOTAG M 50/500MG TABLET as directed by your physician Swallow the medicine with a glass of water, and do not crush or chew the medicine It is better to take the medicine with food to avoid stomach disorders and take this medicine at the same time every day Your doctor will decide the correct dose of the medicine for you depending upon your condition
