Detailed Information
Introduction
GLIRUM TABLET contains Glipizide, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents. It is used in adults in the management of type II diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes alone do not result in an adequate response. Type II diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease associated with abnormally high levels of glucose in the blood. It is caused either by inadequate production of a hormone called insulin (produced by the pancreas to metabolize glucose) or by inadequate sensitivity of body cells to the actions of insulin. Before taking GLIRUM TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have any hormonal problems, genetic disorders (such as G6PD deficiency), or if you are malnourished, starved, or on an irregular diet. GLIRUM TABLET is not suitable for use in patients with type I diabetes mellitus. Consult your doctor before taking GLIRUM TABLET if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
