Introduction
INTRODUCTION ABOUT GATE P EYE DROPSGATE P EYE DROPS is a combination of Gatifloxacin and Prednisolone which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics and Corticosteroids respectively. It is used for post-operative inflammation and any other ocular inflammation associated with infection. Ocular steroids are indicated in inflammatory conditions of the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva, cornea and anterior segment of the globe where the inherent risk of steroid use in certain infective conjunctivitis is accepted to obtain a diminution in oedema and inflammation. They are also indicated in chronic anterior uveitis and corneal injury from chemical radiation or thermal burns or penetration of foreign bodies. How It Works
Gatifloxacin works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This manages the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby working against them. Prednisolone works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies.
