Introduction
Folvite Tablet is an iron supplement that is used to manage folic acid deficiencies such as in megaloblastic anaemias (along with Vitamin B12), or deficiencies associated with reduced absorption of nutrients, and alcoholism. It contains folic acid as an active ingredient which increases the production of red blood cells. It can also be used as adjunctive therapy in anaemias occurring during pregnancy, infancy or childhood and also in women with a history of having children with affected brain or spinal cord. Folic acid is a complex organic acid essential for the production of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets and for the synthesis of proteins that are linked structurally with RNA or DNA. It is also known to manage the occurrence of neural tube defects (brain or spinal cord defects) when given during pregnancy. Take it as advised by your doctor and do not exceed the recommended daily dosage. Folvite Tablet is not recommended for use in unmanageed vitamin B12 deficiency, pernicious anaemia, or any cancerous disease. Before taking Folvite Tablet, inform your doctor if you have a folate-dependent tumour, or any disease that reduces the amount of vitamin B12 in the body.
