USES OF FEBUTAZ 40 TABLET Management of gout and hyperuricemia (increased uric acid levels in the body) in adults HOW FEBUTAZ 40 TABLET WORKSFEBUTAZ 40 TABLET works by selectively inhibiting an enzyme called xanthine oxidase, which plays a key role in the production of uric acid in the body. By blocking this enzyme, febuxostat reduces the formation of uric acid, thereby lowering its levels in the blood. This helps reducing the formation of uric acid crystals, which can cause painful gout attacks and joint damage. DIRECTIONS FOR USETake FEBUTAZ 40 TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you based on your age, body weight and health condition. Do not stop taking FEBUTAZ 40 TABLET without consulting your doctor. During the initial days of the therapy, febuxostat can cause flare up of gout attacks in some individuals which is normal. Over the period of use, these flare ups usually reduce and becomes less painful upon everyday usage. If these flare ups are not manageable, consult your doctor for advice.
