How It Works
Benzoic Acid has fungistatic properties which stops the growth of bacteria, Ichthammol has anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic and keratolytic action which relieves itching as well as the severe skin thickening and stiffness, also has mild inhibition of bacterial growth. Both ichthammol and salicylic acid act as keratolytics by causing the protein keratin (which makes up most of the outer skin structure) to soften. This helps remove dry, scaly skin easily by helping to loosen it. Triamcinolone acetonide acts as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant, works as a potent inhibitor of inflammatory cells, and reduces the expression of inflammatory mediators.
